Between 24 and 26 September 2021, Eurelations EEIG in collaboration with the Pastoral of Leisure, Tourism, and Sport of the Italian Episcopal Conference (Molise Local Office), organised an event aimed at promoting and revitalising the “Cercemaggiore-Castelpetroso Water Route”, as par tof the European Routes. 

The event, which saw the patronage of the Molise Region and Legambiente Molise (Italian association for environmental protection), involved the local community in a three-days trekking experience across 11 small villages of Molise. In this context, the third day was dedicated to discussing how to harness intercultural and interfaith tourism for socio-economic development of the area. Interfaith tourism was recognised as having a great potential to encourage innovation, small business creation as well as tourism products and services development. For these reasons, working on the promotion of interfaith tourism destinations is expected to create widespread community participation and to raise awareness of a common cultural heritage as well.

The Intefide-CRT project was presented as a platform which, through transnational cooperation and sharing, will help boost a new market sector in Molise.
